School Closure 5.1.2021

Dear Parents / Carers

Apologies for the short notice, but following the government announcement at 8 pm this evening it is with regret that we have no choice but to close the school from tomorrow and move to remote learning until 15th February 2021, however, in line with current guidance the school will remain open for those children of key workers and vulnerable children (children with an EHC plan). Please see the link below which clarifies the definition of key workers.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Those children who continue to be eligible for school based learning (see above), please come to school at the usual time and usual entrance tomorrow. As staff will need to come into school tomorrow to organise remote learning for the following day, remote learning will therefore commence from Wednesday 6th January 2021. I am sure you will understand that like yourselves, teaching staff have had very limited notice.

If you are uncertain as to whether your child is eligible to be in school, please call the school office after 8.30 am in the morning. Staff will be in school tomorrow to deal with the unavoidable repercussions of this late announcement.

For those children of key workers or vulnerable children who ordinarily travel to school by taxi, this arrangement should still be in place.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Alice Edwards

Acting Head Teacher

Masked Reader

Masked Reader Entry Form

Please click on the above link to download the Masked Reader entry form in word format. If you would like to take part, we would like you to fill in your child’s full name and record their guess next to each video number. You can add up to 3 siblings per page. We would then like you to take a picture of this form and email the picture over to the homework email address which is homework@stbartholomews.lincs.sch.uk with the subject ‘Masked Reader’. Alternatively, you may download this form, type in your answers, then send back as a word document via the same email address. Please ensure you write in a dark pen so the writing shows up clearly. The answers will be revealed on World Book Day and the child who identifies the most readers, will win a prize. Please return the form or your photograph, via email, by 9am on Thursday 4th March so your entries can be checked. If you do not have a printer, you may draw the same table on a piece of paper and photograph and return it in the same way.

Good luck!!
