Governor News
I just want to say thank you to Phil Callow who has been an asset to the governing body. Phil joined St Bartholomew’s governing body four years ago and during his time has been a fantastic support. We have had a lot of changes and he has guided us through these impressively.
I also want to say a thank to you all the staff and parents and of course our children for all their hard work this year, there have been some challenging times, and like always we have made it through to the end of the school year. We have some new teachers joining us in September, I am sure you will join me in welcoming them, warmly into the St Bart’s family.
And last but not least, I wish the Year 6 leavers a great summer before their journey into secondary school, you will all be brilliant.
I hope you all have a super break and look forward to seeing you again in Septmeber.
Very best wishes, Sajda Andleeb, St Bartholomew’s Chair of Governors
Term 5 was a short term, but nonetheless I am sure we are all looking forward to a break!
The Governors have been busy supporting the school this term and continue to monitor the School Improvement Plan (SIP).
We are proud of the school and how hard the staff and children are working towards teaching and learning. On visits from both Governors and local authority representatives the children have demonstrated school values.
Our Year 6s have completed their KS2 SAT tests, and we would like to thank each of them for their attitude towards the whole experience. They behaved superbly and showed confidence and determination. Well done!
I hope the weather continues in the half term holiday and you all have a super break and see you soon.
Very best wishes,
Sajda Andleeb, Chair of Governors
Term 4 has flown by and with the sun starting to shine, the children are looking forward to the Easter break.
We are so proud of our children who have shown resilience, determination, and patience to changes within the school. They have worked hard and every time we visit the school; we are pleasantly surprised.
As Governors we supported the Young Chef Awards which was truly a fabulous experience. The year 6 were able to put into action the skills they were taught; they were brilliant.
Sajda Andleeb, St Bartholomew’s Chair of Governors

Governors
The Governors of St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School aim to ensure the children enjoy a happy and stable school life, with every opportunity to achieve the very best of their abilities.
We are not responsible for the day-to-day running of the school and if you have a complaint, it is important that you follow the formal steps in the Complaints Procedure, to ensure all matters are dealt with fairly and equally.
We welcome feedback and ideas from the school community. Governors are present at school events, and those of us who are parents are usually present at the school gates.
All minutes from Governor meetings can be obtained on request.

The Purpose of Governance
Chair of Governors – Mrs S Andleeb
Vice Chair of Governors – Mr O Willetts
The purpose of governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.
All boards, no matter what type of schools or how many schools they govern, have three core functions:
- ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance of staff
- overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
